Swimming
Our wonderful neighbors invited us over to swim in their heated pool. Scott loved it! Here are some pictures of him and Brian swimming.

KSC Family Day
Mom, Scott, Tim & Kay R., and I went to the Family Day event at KSC today. (Brian couldn't make it - he is having his own fun at drill weekend and had an outstanding day at the rifle range.) We had a great time. This is a picture of Tim & Kay in front of the VAB:

Scott is fading fast on Kay's shoulder. I don't think he is listening to the information about the orbiter...
And he was out for the count - clearly not impressed at seeing the back end of Shuttle Discovery. As you can see by the legs hanging down low, Scott is getting pretty tall.
Mom & Scott in the VAB. Scott is starting to get a little tired...Side notes: This morning we surprisingly discovered that our dishwasher door is capable of holding up a small child who has instantaneously climbed on and is rocking the bottom rack back and forth. We will try to get Scott to refrain from any further appliance capacity testing. Riggs has also gotten v-e-r-y brave recently and lets Scott pet / crash into him while he is curled up on the bean bag chair. He is such a good, patient kitty. We are trying very hard to instill the idea of "gentle" touches.

Aiden's birthday party
Scott's friend Aiden had his first birthday party on Saturday. The party was at Gymboree, so there were lots of cool things for the kids to do and climb on. Scott, who is usually a very busy little man, was surprisingly tired that afternoon and didn't want to do much besides sit in Vicki's lap and suck his thumb. This was certainly OK by Vicki, so the two of them had a nice time visiting. Scott did try a taste of cupcake and icing, and he seemed to like it.

Fun with blocks and the VCR
Here are some pictures of Scott playing with his wood blocks. They are one of his most favorite toys. He picked the top block off the stack in the second picture without knocking it over. About half the time he picks the top one off and plays with it for a few minutes before toppling the stack.

Scott like the VCR, so I put his little chair in front of it as a distraction... nope. He figured out how to climb on top of the little chair so he could get to the VCR and put his fingers in the door for the tapes. He also likes the on/off button on the VCR becuase it makes the little green light go on and off. We also tried moving the VCR as far back on the shelf as it would go, but we didn't have any luck with that, either. I guess we will have to move it to a safer spot.
