Christmas Joy!

Here are some fun pictures from Christmas at our house.  Lots of fun was had here. Meg knew EXACTLY what to do with the beads and purse she received. Little Girly Girl. Scott was a big fan of the fishing pole that he got, and Riggs had fun chasing the lure (no hook).  It was also a very Lego Christmas for everyone.  Later in the day Scott wore his new Luke Sywalker outfit and the fishing pole morphed into a fabulous light saber. Full on action in the cul de sac - beware, Darth Vader, beware...

Day trip hiking

We took an afternoon excursion to Chester State Park for a short hike this past weekend.  Meg walked all over the place and wore her little self out.  Scott protected us from Darth Vader, who was evidently in the woods and sneaking up on us.  See the pictures below of the running, shooting, and hiding from the enemy... 

Getting ready for Christmas

These pictures are from this past weekend.  We have been enjoying visiting with Grams & Pops and getting ready for Christmas.  One of our weekend projects was to put together a gingerbread train kit.

We helped Edge's family pick out a tree at the Christmas tree farm.  Uncle Kevin had lots of help from little  boys cutting the tree down.  We also went to a great park to see Christmas lights and to say hello to Santa Claus.  Surprisingly, Meg was not afraid of Santa at all.  She was pretty interested in the beard.  Scott wasn't sure what he wanted for Christmas, but he was positive that he had been good.  The lighted Christmas trees in the picture at the bottom were actually synchronized to music, and the boys had a fabulous time dancing their little hearts out in front of that display.  We even got to see full-on mule kick style break dancing and some gymnastics from Scott.  Edge put in some front rolls, too.

Happy Siblings

Some pictures of Scott acting like a great big brother - snuggling with Meg on the couch and offering her some of his hot chocolate, which she had never had before.  I love the look on her face in the first hot chocolate picture, because you can feel the skepticism.  Scott is trying to pat her on the head and tell her in a sing song voice that she is going to love it.  She tries it, then she is in chocolate heaven. He was so sweet to share with her, it was totally his idea.  I even said she wouldn't be able to drink it, but he said she could use a straw... My little problem solver.  :)

Meg's first Clemson football game

We had a great time this past weekend in Raleigh with dear old friends, and our kids had a fun time getting to know each other.  Bart & Kathryn and their 2 girls as well as the 4 of us all stayed overnight with Jeff & Beth and their 2 girls (who live in Raleigh) so we could all go to the Clemson vs. Duke game together.  Beth is the lone Duke graduate of the adults - the rest of us were all in Tiger Band together.  This was Meg's first football game.  We had a great time tailgating and we made it through the 1st quarter and some of the 2nd quarter before Meg threw in the towel and wanted to go home to go to bed. She was very good about it, and fussed just a few minutes then fell asleep in her car seat.  I think she really enjoyed seeing everything going on and getting lots of attention from the older girls.  Scott had a blast, even though he was completely surrounded by girls. He played hard during the tailgating, was fascinated by the light up Duke horns, and was very excited about the glow in the dark skull that Kathryn got for him. (For those of you who remember the Tuba Prophecy - Bart and Jeff are the two who were destined to have girls.) It was a great weekend, and we are hoping to get together again sometime soon!
