Legos and the high seas

Playing with Legos involves two distinct phases : 1) serious concentration while stacking and pulling apart and 2) laughter and squealing while scrambling them around with reckless abandon. Phase 2 is best with company, but no help is required - or desired - in phase 1. Scott is big on doing things himself.

Brian & Scott went on an adventure this morning in my parents' kayak on the neighborhood lake behind the house. They floated around with the ducks, found the small island, investigated the fake Canadian goose, etc. Big fun!

Weekend pics

Hanging out with Grams - thinking about making some sidewalk chalk art. The skateboard goes faster when you use your tongue.
The last three pictures are from a fabulous playground not too far from Grams & Pops' house.

yogurt monster

Scott loves to eat yogurt for breakfast. He is pretty good with the spoon, but a bib is a MUST.

first hair cut

We tamed Scott's mane of fuzz on Monday with a hair cut. The curls in the back had gotten a bit long and messy, so we gave him a neat, boyish trim. He didn't mind at all, and was very good sitting in his chair watching Baby Noah on the little dvd player.

More vacation pictures

Scott roaming the coastline in front of the cottage. He was on a mission to find rocks to throw.

RuthAnn, Scott, and I enjoying a nice dip in the water at Crystal Beach. Scott thought it was hilarious to drop rocks, have me pick them up and hand them to him so he could drop them again. This was fun over and over and over and over...

Hey, Uncle Greg don't worry - I can drive this remote all by myself. Let me show you how it's done...
Scott is just as enthralled by Ralph's funny noises as he was when he was just 3 months old, except now he giggles instead of just staring.

Family Visit Pictures

I haven't posted anything in a while because we have been very busy lately. After a lot of scrambling around, we took a week long vacation trip to visit everyone in Brian's family. It was a great relaxing week. Here are some pictures from the trip:

The first one is the sunset from the back porch of Brian's parents' cottage. So beautiful! We went out on the porch to watch it several times, and Scott would wave bye-bye to the sun, the ducks, trees, etc.

Scott on the back porch - waving. I can't remember if he was waving "hey" or "bye-bye".

Scott and Great-Grandpa. Scott was quite fond of his Great-Grandpa's afghan. He thinks all knitted or crocheted blankets are HIS!

Scott and Grandpa playing with the bubbles at the concert in the park. This was a fabulous Bluegrass dinner time concert at a state park. There were hula hoops, bubbles, and a playground to entertain the kids and everyone brought a picnic dinner and chairs to sit in and watch the show.

The last one is of Brian and Scott enjoying a tractor ride - both of them waving. The jury is out as to which of them is enjoying the ride more. :)
