Family Camping Trip
We went on a 2 night camping trip this weekend at a beautiful state park not too far from Chad & Kelly, so Chad and 2 of his boys stopped by to visit with us. We had a great time, though we are hoping that Scott sleeps a bit more the next time we go...

Look Momma, no fear! SPLASH!!
Scott absolutely loves the neighborhood pool. He begged us to go swimming tonight, so we went over there on our bikes after dinner. From the very first visit to the pool a few weekends ago he has been jumping in the water - just like all the big kids. Here are some pictures I snapped of our quick swim outing tonight.

Camping Adventure
Brian and Scott went backpacking into the woods behind the house for a test run at camping. It took f-o-r-e-v-e-r for Scott to go to sleep, and once asleep he managed to roll around the entire tent and lose his blanket in the middle of the night, but all in all the night was a success. We are going to pack up and go camping at a state park soon.

Balsa wood airplane
Brian and Scott had fun with a small balsa wood airplane in the backyard. Here they are getting it ready to go.
This next one is after Scott chased it down, picked it up, and launched it himself.
A successful launch with cheering by Scott.
The airplane didn't make it through the afternoon. It had several rough flights onto the roof, into the trees, launched by Scott, etc. It lost the vertical stabilizer, which Brian replaced with a business card for a few more flights, but it never truly recovered...
As a side note, here are a few funny words that Scott uses:
zert = dessert
be-bop = lollipop
flap = housefly

BOOTS!! BOOTS!!
We had a melt down the other day because the cowboy boots in the Easter pictures no longer fit. I looked everywhere trying to find more cowboy boots - with no luck - unless I wanted to spend nearly $50. Fortunately, we were able to find these stomping boots on ebay, and Scott was THRILLED to get them. He wasted no time! The whole family immediately put on boots and went outside to stomp around in the yard, throw sticks, and trudge up and down the path to the woods, where we christened the boots with wet, sticky, red clay. Then we sat down in the grass and had chocolate pudding for dessert. Not sure those shorts will ever recover, but it was a fun evening!
Fun with the backyard hose
