Carowinds on a Sunday afternoon

Scott is thrilled because he is tall enough to ride the next level of rides at Carowinds.  He still has several inches before he gets to ride everything at the park, but he has definitely stepped up to the second tier this year.  I love the picture of him and Brian on the front of the coaster. Two peas in a pod, both wearing Clemson sweatshirts.  He was so excited trying to tell us about the coaster that he was at a loss for words.  Meg is not quite ready for the thrill rides yet, though she had a great time at the park and fell asleep in the van on the way home.  She likes the carousel, but she does not want to sit on the horses.  She wants to pet all the horses, say "neigh" to them, and hold firmly onto a parent. This evidently makes her very happy, because she wanted to ride again. She also likes to people-watch, so Carowinds is a great venue for her. :)

bike practice and cul-de-sac fun

Here are some pictures of Scott practicing on his bike, with Brian able to let his hand off for just a minute or so... and we are still using the modified furniture dolly as a fabulous street cart.

Quick visit from Grandpa

We love it when Grandpa has a business trip that brings him to our house! Here are some pictures from fun times after dinner on the downstairs patio. Smores, a view of the water, a swinging chair, and a sandbox.  Ahhh....

First T-Ball Game

Scott's first ever t-ball game was this morning, and it was extremely entertaining. How can you not enjoy watching a bunch of 4 and 5 year-olds who have absolutely no idea what is going on?

This is Scott's first at-bat.

and Scott socializing with the cute girl on the other team at first base...

Here he is running the bases.

and bringing it home...

Brian, the impromptu 3rd base coach and his trusty assistant coach, Meg, who was desperate to steal the pen that Brian was using to try to jot down names of kids so he could get their attention and tell them where 3rd base was...

the cheering fans

more running of bases

instructions from the 3rd base coach and a thumbs up to Mom with the camera

end of game hurray for the team

after game snack and a chance to say hello to the Chik-Fil-A cow
(Side note - Meg will say "Moo Cow! Moo Cow!" emphatically at the Chik-Fil-A cow over and over again, but when you ask if she wants to see him, she matter-of-factly says "No" every time. She evidently does not want to be up close to the cow, but sees no harm in her brother doing it.)

Chalk on Main

These are some pictures from this year's Chalk on Main which is a fun gathering on a Friday evening after work where the kids get to decorate Main Street with sidewalk chalk.  Meg and Scott outlined Brian on the street - well, Scott outlined Brian and Meg got lots of chalk ON Brian. :)  We had dinner out at the festival from a tent set up by a local restaurant and listened to beach music while a bunch of kids played with beach balls.  Great weather and laid back festival.  Very nice.

Easter 2013

This post is a bit late in making it's way onto the blog because we have been busy moving, but here are pictures from Easter morning at our new house.  It was a bit overcast, so we hunted eggs on the porch.  We had lots of eggs, but our little egg-finders are FAST! We also took a trip down to the neighborhood lake shore where Meg threw anything she could get her hands on into the water, and Scott played with sticks making lots of Jedi noises.  (Note to self - keep coffee cup and anything important well away from Meg when she can see water.)
