Easter 2011

Happy Easter everybody! Scott had a great time finding eggs.

Blue Bike (Daddy's old bike)

Scott saw the little blue bike (Brian's old bike from when he was little) in our garage and wanted to ride it, so he gave it a shot, with plenty of help from Brian. Then he decided he didn't want to ride it, but that it was Daddy's turn to ride.

Mulch monster

We had a load of mulch delivered, and Scott was enthralled. His first words after he jumped out of the car were, "My need a shovel." He was very helpful in getting the mulch into the wheelbarrow so Brian could spread it out in the yard. Of course, we all learned how flammable mulch is in our recent research projects at work, but that is another story...

13 weeks - ultrasound of little brother or sister

The baby is doing well, with a strong heartbeat. The little thing would hardly be still for the ultrasound technician - arms and legs moving all around, jumping and wiggling all over the place. In the ultrasound picture below the baby is lying on its back with its head to the left, looking up. The spine shows up as a bright line, and you can see a hand just over the belly and a little foot at the end. We might be able to find out if it is a boy or a girl in another month or so.

Neighborhood Easter egg hunt

We went to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt today. It started at 2pm, which is when Scott gets up from his nap. Brian tried to get him up a little early, but he wakes up pretty hard. We got there almost 15 minutes late, and the event had pretty much already happened, but the kind ladies who put it together found some additional eggs and hid them just for him. It was very nice of them. He got into it after the third egg or so, and ended up with a nice little collection in his basket. The middle picture shows the egg opening and candy counting. We had to put all the eggs back together before going home - can't leave them apart. This was also a banner day for Scott because it was a two-cupcake day. He had a cupcake right before the Easter egg hunt, and then he got another cupcake at Tiffany's birthday party. WooHoo!

Easter eggs and bike rides

We had a big fun day today, which included coloring the Easter eggs and going for bike rides. Scott was pretty good at maneuvering the eggs in and out of the cups this year. He is also getting very good at pedaling his tricycle. We have taken several rides down the wide trail near our house, and he really enjoys it. The Army t-shirt he is wearing is new - Brian brought him a matching shirt home from a recent training trip. Scott loves it. He is "Army Strong"!

Sandbox fun

Here are some pictures of Scott enjoying his sandbox. I wasn't able to get any good pictures last weekend because Scott had a terrible stomach virus all weekend. Poor little guy was really miserable for three days, and then finally recovered on Tuesday. We watched a lot of movies and snuggled on the couch that weekend. Thankfully, we had a great time this weekend. It is the first weekend of the spring festival in Rock Hill. We went to "Chalk on Main" on Friday evening, where kids color Main Street with sidewalk chalk and then strolled over to "Beach Bash" to listen to music and have a bite to eat. On Saturday we went to see the parade. Today was a nice relaxing day at home, with a trip to the big playground in the afternoon. The sandbox pictures are from this morning, when it was still a bit cloudy and cool enough to need a sweatshirt.
