small amount of snow today

We had a little bit of snow, and we were lucky enough to have Grams here to enjoy it with us.  It was just barely enough to do some sledding, and then we had some dress up time, too.

School was closed today because of the ice. At one point Meg put on these dress up clothes and sang for us. I had to run out for an appointment (thankfully they were open in the afternoon). What do you think Meg wore to the doctor's office? This of course, but with rain boots instead of heels. :)

Happy Valentine's Day

So we went all out for Valentine's Day and had special dinner and special dessert, only we decided that there was no need to wait until after dinner for dessert, so we had that for afternoon snack. Here is Brian pictured with the yummy concoction that we enjoyed - two kinds of ice cream, chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, marshmallow topping, Fruity Pebbles, cherries and sprinkles. Yum!

For dinner, we got all dressed up and we ate filet mignon (adults) or shake & bake chicken (kids), baked potato (adults), tater tots (kids), broccoli, salad, and rolls. Everyone got to use fancy crystal glasses, whether they were having wine, apple juice, or chocolate milk. We were living large! Some wore fancy uniforms, others fancy bow ties, dresses, or Elsa dresses. Happy Valentine's Day to us!

Scott received a volcano kit from Grandma & Grandpa for Christmas and we had our first lava flow today. It looked pretty cool, but Scott & Brian are already scheming about how to make a bigger impact the next time it goes. We have enough ingredients for two more tries. :) 

two person bike

A little afternoon fun in the cul-de-sac. Meg is big enough to ride the two person bike now, and she is very happy about that. Unfortunately for Brian this is a much steeper neighborhood than the one we were in when Scott was riding the two person bike. Meg wants to go on the big hill again, and again, and again, and again...
