life jacket

We asked Scott to try on his life jacket so we could make sure it still fits - we will need it this weekend at the lake. It was quite a negotiation to get him to put it on, and then he didn't want to take it off! Here he is, still wearing it and watching an episode of Bob the Builder.

Me: "Scott, do you want to take off your life jacket?"
Scott: "No, Mama"
(repeat several times, until...)
Brian: "Scott, it's time for dinner. You won't be able to fit in your chair with the life jacket on."
Scott: "Dinner? Life jacket OFF!"

Visit this past weekend

Pictures from our visit at Auntie J and Uncle Kevin's house. Edge is getting bigger by the minute. Grandpa is getting LOTS of help putting deck furniture together, and Houston (or Oooston as Scott calls him) is pretty much everywhere. The last picture is a spectacular sunset from the deck on the back of the house.

off the diving board

Scott jumped off both diving boards (small and 1 meter) at the pool near Auntie J and Uncle Kevin's house this afternoon. No pictures, but we are confident he will go again if the opportunity arises.

Fourth of July pictures

We went to a fabulous church service this morning with friends. It was a tribute to the military, so Brian wore his uniform. We took these family pictures in the yard when we got home. We started out small with fireworks because Scott is generally not big on loud noises. He enjoyed snaps, so we graduated to sparklers. These were a big hit, so we went on to rockets. He loved it! He was always ready, though - the ears stayed covered!

School 4th of July Parade

Here are some pictures from the 4th of July parade at Scott's school. Brian went all out with the decoration of the cart and wagon for Scott's class.

Genetics

I have heard that this tongue holding technique was perfected by generations... and can be observed by asking several of Scott's relatives to swing a hammer. It is a new trait for Scott.
