Boo Ha Ha

We went to the downtown festival "Boo Ha Ha" with our neighbors. Scott wasn't too sure about this scary cat, but he quickly caught on to the concept of trick-or-treating. The first few tables he was a bit confused, but when he realized that people actually give you candy, he was a trick-or-treating fool! He is a big fan of Halloween now.
The fire truck was a nice diversion from the large crowd. They enjoyed looking at it.
M&Ms may melt in your mouth, and not in your hands, but they also make a fabulously sticky and gooey drool... which you can then smear on Momma's jeans when she isn't looking. This picture cracks me up. You can see the motion of these two running around this tree. They were singing Ring Around the Rosy. Actually, M was singing and Scott was squealing with delight. One of the tables at Boo Ha Ha was handing out glow sticks. Scott LOVES his glow stick. He did not want to part with it, so I let him sleep with it. He is in bed glowing away right now...

Halloween party in the neighborhood

Scott, in his Airborne Army Strong outfit, headed down to the neighborhood playground for a Saturday afternoon Halloween party.Pumpkin tattoo on, eating a sugar cookie that he just decorated with sprinkles and frosting - life is very good!I see you!Pow. pow. I will shoot you with my stick.

Playground on a Friday afternoon

I took off a little early on Friday afternoon and took Scott to the big playground. He loved it. Amazingly, he can climb most of the playground equipment with a small car in each hand...

To infinity and beyond!

I rented Toy Story (the first one) at Blockbuster on Thursday and we have seen it probably a dozen or so times since. (Today is Sunday...) So, I figured owning a copy might be a good idea. Scott has also decided not to wear his army shirt - probably because Brian is out of town on army duty - so I got him this Buzz Lightyear costume for $12. He LOVES IT! I had him try it on to make sure it would fit, and he decided that we had to show it to the neighbors, and wear it to store. He did take it off to eat dinner because he was afraid of getting it dirty. I offered him a bib, but he was not convinced that the bib would do the trick... All the way to the store, through the open car window: "To infinity and beyond!"

computer skills and bubble jousting

Scott can use the computer mouse to play games an SesameStreet.org now. He is enthralled over the fact that he can do it himself. Sword of death to all bubbles!

Camping at Kings Mtn

We went camping this past weekend at Kings Mountain. Lucky for us, the re-enacters were there to celebrate the 230th anniversary of the battle of Kings Mountain. The picture below was a demonstration of the difference in firepower of three of the rifles of the day. Brian and Scott checking out the wooden rifles.
Scott took to rifle training like a duck to water. He quickly started roaming off towards the woods, holding the rifle out and stepping quietly... like he was hunting or on a military patrol, and like he had been doing that sort of thing his whole little life...
The campground had a pretty good playground. This is a slide race.
Scott was messing around with these sticks at camp, then he announced to me, "I drumming."
And everybody knows that the best part of camping is....drum roll please... DESSERT!

I go up

Brian took Scott on a flying adventure. He LOVED it! One of the pictures shows the chuckle on a nose over when they got a little light in the seat. They went up and down and side to side. Scott decided he needed just a little break, so he said, "no...no...no..." Brian flew straight and level for a short while, then Scott announced, "I go up." and he raised the nose...
