Gold mine excursion

Our good friend Scott B came to visit for the weekend and one adventure that we took was going to a nearby gold mine museum.  Scott was all about helping by pushing the stroller, and Meg did not seem to mind.  I think Meg's favorite part was the rocks, and Scott enjoyed borrowing big Scott's headlamp.  Our Scott has several of his own at home, but big Scott has one right in his pocket! :)  We panned for gold and found a tiny speck, which Scott showed off to anyone who would listen for the rest of the day... 

Inland Lake weekend

Here are some pictures from our fun trip to Inland Lake.  Scott and Meg got to play with their cousins and swim their little hearts out.  Meg was very happy with herself when she learned how to motor about with her life jacket on - this was new found freedom!  I love the picture of Scott "diving" into the lake - pretty much flat horizontal.  Meg also likes to drive the boat with her hand firmly on the throttle at all times.  Grams' ipad was definitely the hit with ALL 7 grand kids before and after dinner while sitting on the porch.

Scott invited his friend from school over to play this afternoon.  LOTS of energy was expended and some cotton candy and snacks were consumed...

Discovery Place

We went to Discovery Place museum with Grams, Ralph, and Sandy on Friday.  Everyone had a great time.   Some Meg's favorites were splashing in the water play are and crashing the soft blocks.  I think Scott really enjoyed building blocks and the dress up dragon suit with the fan.  Here are just a few pictures from a fun day.

 

Fun in the water with family on the Fourth

We had lots of fun on the Fourth of July just hanging around the house and playing in the water.  Grams was here and so were Ralph and Sandy.  Our day went something like this: breakfast, swimming, lunch, nap for Meg, afternoon snack of chocolate cake (which you can see on Meg's face in one of the pictures), more swimming with a short break because of a passing storm, early dinner, then smores with swimming and a few fireworks before the rain came. The kids had a BLAST and were completely worn out at the end of the day.
